A bit about your trainer.
Five years ago, Jacob flew across the world from the UK to Canada, driven by his passion for action sports and life in the mountains. With a degree in Sport & Exercise Science, a CrossFit Level 1 certificate, and a background competing for Great Britain in BMX racing, Jacob brings over a decade of experience in developing and refining fitness techniques.
“During my BMX days, I always preferred training on my own and never saw the appeal of group fitness classes. I stuck to personal training instead. But at a time when I was working non-stop and struggling to find motivation for the gym or even snowboarding, I decided to step outside my comfort zone and try a bootcamp class.
That first session was a humbling experience. Being competitive by nature, I assumed it would be easy but I quickly learned otherwise. I vividly remember struggling through the warm-up of 100 squats and 100 sit-ups and even stepping outside to catch my breath. Watching everyone push through with such determination inspired me to keep going.
From that day on, I committed to every session and started seeing incredible changes in both my fitness and mindset. Bootcamp became my go-to training style, and I’ve never felt better. The energy, challenge, and camaraderie of the group continue to motivate me every day.”
After several months of leading bootcamp sessions in Whistler and building a strong local following, Jacob decided to launch Grind Fitness Whistler, a program dedicated to helping others find strength, confidence, and community through functional fitness in the mountains.
